What are Cannabinoids?

  • A group of closely related compounds found in Cannabis that act on cannabinoid receptors in the body.                                                       There are over 80 cannabinoids found in the Hemp plant.

  • They are unique to Cannabis. (both Hemp and Marijuana are Cannabis)

  • Hemp is CBD dominant.         CBD is non-psychoactive

  • Marijuana is THC dominant.   THC is psychoactive

  • Our body creates compounds called endocannabinoids, while hemp produces phytocannabinoids, notably cannabidiol or CBD which works with our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) to support homeostasis in our bodies.

                             The Endocannabinoid System

  • The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) was discovered in 1990

  • Cannabinoids and their receptors are found throughout the body: in the brain, organs, connective tissues, glands and immune cells.

  • In each tissue, the Endocannabinoid system performs different tasks, but the goal is always the same; Homeostasis.

  • Cannabinoids link together with cannabinoid receptors which activate the receiving neurons into action.
